Jealousy Wakes Eyeshadow - M.A.C.
Jealousy Wakes ($17.50 CAD/$14.50 USD) is a limited edition eyeshadow that is part of M.A.C.'s Bloggers Obsession collection. M.A.C. asked nine Beauty Bloggers to collaborate with them to develop eyeshadows and lipgloss to release exclusively online.
Jealousy Wakes is the eyeshadow developed by Christine from Temptalia. It is a rich, true emerald green with subtle shimmer and a veluxe pearl finish. Veluxe pearls are often described as pigmented, soft, blendable and shimmery.
I found Jealousy Wakes to live up to most of these characteristics. It has a very interesting texture that I haven't found in my other veluxe pearl shadows from M.A.C. It can be a little difficult to blend once on the eye and I found it needs a bit of reapplication here or there to get rich colour.
Cora, from Vintage or Tacky, made a suggestion in one of her recent videos to use Jealousy Wakes wet as it helps improve the texture. I don't know whether or not it was designed to be used wet, but I've found that the shadow does become easier to work with when used that way. I've also found the shadow doesn't harden or alter at all after being used wet, however I have only tested it in small areas around the edge of the shadow.
The colour of Jealousy Wakes is unique from any of the greens I have had previously. I love how true the emerald is and the subtle sheen of the shadow. Overall, I think the shadow is a great shade and despite the texture issues I've found, I still think the shadow is worth the money.
